The Latest…

Welcome to BHP Recordings, a small record company started 14 years ago. We’ve got some exciting new product to tell you about!

Missouri Mile released their new EP “Exit 214″ March 5, 2013! Reactions to “Talk Me Down (The Yard Sale Song)” are starting to come in. The big question… “who is the loser dude in that song?” someone asked. “Let’s just say, one of us transcended all that and it’s in the past, but if Taylor Swift can bash her ex’s in her songs, all’s fair! Ha!” - Missouri Mile.

And…the first review is in: “The DisCovery Award goes to the surprisingly accomplished newcomers of Missouri Mile….Songwriters Sheena and Sheila are sisters who comprise the duo Missouri Mile. They harmonize as only siblings can. The lilting title tune to their seven-song EP reveals them to be simply audio awesome. The song is completely captivating as both a melody and a lyric, and Byron Hill’s production frames their vocals with a lovely, luscious mix of mandolin, bass and acoustic guitar. In a word, enchanting. Producers and A&R folks take note: All of these songs are worth cutting, pronto.” - Robert K. Oermann, March 20, 2013

The duo also caught a lot of attention with their 2010 debut EP entitled  ”That’s What I Do”, and gathered many great reviews. Here are a few… “Sunny, simple and ear-catchingly charming.” -Robert K. Oermann, Music Row Magazine, “Great vocals and fantastic songs – what a combination!” -Rita Blackburn, Radio Star, Ireland“They could well break into the big time – an ample replacement for the Dixie Chicks”-David Miller, Puketapu Radio, New Zealand.

Michael Cosner has such an identifiable sound, that when he sings his songs you know where he’s from, how he was raised and what he believes. Michael Cosner is the real deal and then some, and we welcome him to BHP Recordings with his debut 2012 EP Stay Country…and STAY COUNTRY he does! ”That voice. It’s a Sunday morning baritone, with a slight North Carolina twang that’s as distinctive as Lexington-style barbecue.” - Jeri Rowe, Go Triad, Greensboro, NC.
